Service Apprenticeship Program

"Whatever you do to the least among you, you do unto me" (Matthew 25:40)

THE PURPOSE OF THE NLCA COMMUNITY SERVICE APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM IS:

We believe service to others is at the very heart of the gospel. Our mission at New Life Christian Academy is to build students of faith and wisdom so as to inspire them to serve others.  Beginning in the 2007-08 school year, we instituted a Christian Service Internship program, in which students are asked to give service hours each year to charitable agencies around the greater San Antonio area. In that year alone, New Life Christian Academy students gave over 10,000 hours of volunteer service to these agencies. This program teaches our students how to deal with the complexities of today’s world, by actively participating in their school and community. The community service requirement allows students to enrich their learning through recognition of the needs of their school, community and the youth of our community.

The NLCA Community Service Apprenticeship Program is coordinated by a full time teacher, who establishes relationships with these charities and monitors the success of the program.
